NTPC Invites EOI for 50MW Concentrated Solar Power Project with Thermal Energy Storage System

The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from Indian and foreign entities, including consortiums, affiliates, and representatives, to develop a 50MW Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) project with a Thermal Energy Storage System (TESS). The project aims to provide renewable energy during peak demand and non-solar hours on a Build Own Operate (B-O-O) basis.

Project Scope: NTPC is seeking proposals for the establishment of a 50MW CSP project with TESS to ensure uninterrupted power supply during peak hours and non-solar periods.

Operational Requirements: The TESS should enable 8 hours of operation during peak demand and non-solar hours, with a minimum annual availability of 70% of the contracted capacity.

Exclusive Use of CSP: Only concentrated solar power (CSP) will be permitted for charging the TESS, emphasizing the reliance on solar energy for this project.
